Artists Staying At Home – Online Exhibition – Studio 21
Few years back when I dreamt more than I actually painted, a friend asked if I would be taking part in ‘Artists At Home’ exhibition. I squirmed. I did not believe I had what it takes. I had no more than a few paintings to display. My dad was talking about exhibiting as well and all I felt was pressure and a total lack of confidence. They both knew something I did not. A seed was planted. Here I am finally taking part in one of the most popular art events in West London. Yes, hugely disappointed in not being able to physically hang my art up in a gallery. Totally missing out on the excitement of the preview night with wine and laughter, old friends and new, conversations and new connections. Art that connects, art that brings people together, art that open up the floor for discussions. For any artist there is no greater joy than seeing people enjoy their work. This year life has taken an unexpected turn for everyone around the world. I am grateful that me, my family and friends are all safe. There are far worse things that could happen. So many events have gone online now. In some ways making it accessible to more people than ever before. I can still proudly say that I have taken part in Artists At Home 2020. Most of my creations are ‘Isolation Creations’ and that makes them extra special. The whole series is about ‘The ‘Woman’. The different phases she is going through, perhaps living on her own during lockdown. I am sure it resonates with a lot of us. It had been tough. It is not over yet. We will get through this.
Please register at https://www.artistsathome.co.uk for a preview. I am Studio 21 but I encourage you to check out other artists too. Exhibition runs from 17th June to the 21st of June. If you wish to buy something before that, please get in touch. Thank you for your support.
